CAT-5

Hailing from Eastern Long Island, Cat-5 brings hurricane-force energy to the classic rock scene. Named for the most powerful category of storm—one that famously leaves great surf in its wake—the band delivers a sound that is both timeless and electrifying.

On lead guitar, Bosco Michne is a seasoned New York performer, recording artist, and educator. Over the years, he has shared the stage and studio with legends including Butch Trucks, G.E. Smith, and Simon Kirke, and has more recently performed alongside Mike Reilly and Rick Davies. A dedicated teacher as well, his students have included the children of Christie Brinkley and Steven Spielberg. Michne also writes and records original music with Unsung Heroes and has been fortunate to have played with, and been inspired by  icons Jaco Pastorius and Randy Brecker. 

On rhythm guitar, Brian Luckey, formerly of El Camino, has played iconic venues from Montauk to New York City, including The Stephen Talkhouse, Mercury Lounge and CBGB. The rhythm section is powered by bassist Billy Lucey, who also performs with local favorites Jetty Koon, and drummer Ronnie Desiderio, whose steady backbeat anchors the band’s dynamic sound. Nancy Kane on lead vocals comes from a background behind the scenes in the music business, having worked with Duran Duran, Taylor Dayne and The Dan Band, among others.

Cat-5 puts its own spin on beloved classics—from The Grateful Dead’s Friend of the Devil to The Police’s Message in a Bottle—while paying tribute to artists such as The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Seger, Eric Clapton and more.
