Take Your Shoes Off

Take Your Shoes Off was founded in March of 2018 when Rafi, Mikey, Paul and John (not pictured) moved into an East Village apartment together.

One night they were out at The Red Lion, staring up at the band blasting beautiful cover tunes in the faces of the inebreated, post-college crowd. The three of them looked at one another and thought... how sick would it be if we could one day do this?

One rough morning and a quick Google search later, they landed at Rivington Music Rehearsal Studios. They began practicing and eventually formalized the band with a name stolen from the lyrics of the song "Sex" by The 1975 - Take Your Shoes Off was born.

Within a week they had their first gig at the Parkside Lounge. The music and energetic crowd at Parkside set them up for success and within just 2 months they were on stage in front of a sold out crowd at The Red Lion, the very venue where they had fantasized of playing a few weeks prior.

Take Your Shoes Off has thrived ever since. With three singles released on Spotify and nearly 100 shows played, TYSO has become a staple of many Manhattanites and has touched the hearts of people all around the world.
